I had my first OB appointment yesterday. I am 13 weeks and my due date is July 30th. Brian was able to attend the appointment with me which was really cool! I of course wanted him to be able to see the ultrasound so that the pregnancy would seem more real to him and so that he can start to bond with our precious little peanut. BUT I also wanted him to see how much female visits SUCK! He had NO idea what we go through when we go for our yearly visit and how much our bodies get probed and prodded in very personal places. I think it was quite the eye opener for him.
So, as I mentioned we had our very first ultrasound and it was the coolest. It was so amazing to see our baby in there and to see him move around and to see that teeny tiny little heart beating like crazy. He was moving his legs like crazy and so I think he is preparing to ride bikes with his dad. True to his nature Brian did not say much and did not show much outward expression through the whole thing until....the Dr. was showing us all the different views of the baby and she says "I don't know what you think but I sure think that paticular body part looks like a little scrotum", (she also said don't go out and paint the nursery) it sure looked like a scrotum to me. When she said that the first cutest man in my life smiled from ear to ear and you could tell that he was pretty pleased.....so pleased in fact that the next ten minutes or so he kept saying "little balls, little balls she said she saw little balls!" I think that maybe he is excited at the prospect of a little mini Brian running or eventually riding around. These are the moments that make the rest of life worth living the true joy ones.

That is so cute! Glade is terrible at showing emotion too so I can relate. I'm so excited for you and Brian! You are going to be such a fun mom. I hope you are feeling well!
That is pretty funny. He couldn't keep but show his emotions after that, eh? I think that is pretty normal for a guy.
