NEW JOB!

I have been working in a temporary position at Cardon's Childrens Medical Center at Banner Hospital in Mesa, AZ for the RSV season. I originally took the job because I thought I would be heading into block III of nursing school and the dreaded pediatric rotation. Much to my surprise I have actually loved working in Peds and I just secured my pre-nursing dream job of working in the NICU as a PCT. I am so excited. Ultimately I would like to be a NICU nurse and this will be GREAT experience and time for me to see if that is really what I want. It finally feels like some doors are being opened for me as far as my future is concerned and I am maybe even starting to understand why I did not pass block II the first time after coming so dang close. I know I wouldn't have gotten this job if I only had one semester of nursing school left. No one would invest the time in me if I was getting ready to leave and be a nurse in 4 months. I never would have forseen this sequence of events in December when I was crying my eyes out that I had to retake my block II classes and believe me it has been a challenge. The program I have been in this semester has been WAY more intense and challenging than last semester and the information that they want us to know is completely different than the previous program so it definitely has not been a semester of loafing aroung doing review. I have had to work hard and have definitely had my share of obstacles but it is looking like maybe there was a purpose after all? What do you think?
